Shrove Tuesday

I'm fascinated by the different appearance of each pancake..just like snowflakes no two are the same!

Ooh we love pancakes! Lemon and sugar are the faves in this house although the children like Golden Syrup on their's too...

Mix a pancake,

stir a pancake,

pour it in a pan.

Fry a pancake,

toss a pancake;

catch it if you can!

And there was so much batter left over that I carried on making pancakes and stored them between sheets of non-stick foil in the fridge and reheated them the next day..this worked perfectly well.

One of my friends made me this for my birthday...isn't she clever? I like that he's made from fabric with an owl on..he's got a weight in so he will perch. Tweet isn't he?!

Birthday Dinner

I had my birthday dinner at the Brasserie Blanc in Leeds.

It was called Leodis last time I was there, many years ago! Loved it and can definitely recommend it..wonderful atmosphere, great, friendly staff and lovely food..completely enjoyable experience.

I had snails to start with:

 Followed by lamb's liver and then this!!

Baked Alaska.

They flamed it at the table with Grand Marnier...it was absolutely delicious!
