I was called for an early mammogram as I live in an area where these are being done. The staff were very efficient and it was over quite quickly I'm glad to say as the whole experience was totally weird! I felt like Mr Benn at one point in the miniscule claustrophobic changing cupboard, maybe I would emerge into a new world...
Results should be in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed things will be normal.

Picture House Keighley
I've driven past this old cinema for years, everytime thinking I'd love to visit it. So we did today! Saw the Hobbit sequel the Desolation of Smaug, what a great place! Friendly, interested and informative staff and really comfortable seats. It felt like we'd stepped back in time. Loved it! Film was excellent too!

The Lamppost Dog Cafe
I've recently been introduced by my friends and their adorable dog, to this wonderful dog-friendly cafe in the centre of Hebden Bridge. I was sceptical at first about a cafe accepting, even encouraging dogs(!) but it really is the most wonderful place. The food is all homemade with the freshest ingredients and absolutely delicious. So far I've had Minestrone soup (the best i've tasted) and a marvellous Winter Salad with cauliflower and feta which was excellent.
There's an array of tempting cakes and a section all just for dogs decorated with cheese bones. The attention to detail is remarkable throughout the cafe with thoughtfully placed drinking bowls and fresh water for both dogs and jugs for the humans! The surroundings are very tasteful and the cafe has a lovely welcoming feel with friendly staff and it's very clean. Can't wait for my next visit! And you don't need to take a dog with you!

Burlesque ornaments.
Love these burlesque inspired ornaments I found in a vintage shop in Byram Arcade, Huddersfield. They're just what I've been looking for.

New Year's Day
My lovely, thoughtful friend gave me this wonderful present last nite. It's a jar with a notebook in to write down positive, happy things that happen this year and keep them in this jar to be opened and read out next New Year's Eve. How lovely is that? She said it'll be an antedote to all the horrible things that happened in 2013. Fab idea!
