Choccy piggies!
Lucky me, I received these for my birthday earlier in the year and haven't had the heart to open them up to now...
But they're squealy yummy! I don't think they'll last long...

Grandma's Apple Pie
Line a pie tin with pastry, peel 2 Bramley apples and slice into chunks, place apple on pastry and sprinkle over 3/4 tablespoons of sugar. Cover apple with a pastry lid, crimp the edges to seal and brush with beaten egg and sprinkle sugar on before baking in a hot oven for 30 mins.
Cooking the apple this way results in a more "appley" flavour to the finished pie and gives a better texture.

Tulips
The tulips I planted in the wall are finally flowering, I had to put wire mesh over the top to stop the squirrel from digging them up!

White Admiral Phlox
My new plant for my herbacious border, a White Admiral Phlox. I'm hoping it will spread so I can divide it. I like white flowers, they provide a good cool contrast to all the other colours, restful on the eye.

Sinkful of Joy
Joy the cat has taken to sitting in the kitchen sink. Bonkers, that cat! Maybe I can train her to wash-up....now there's a thought....

Magnificent Magnolia
I came across this wonderful Magnolia tree today. The petals were the most beautiful pink colour, all waxy and unspoilt.

Baked Camembert
Pierce the cheese a few times, sprinkle with white wine, a few sprigs of thyme and black pepper. Bake in its box for about 20-30 mins then dip toasted pitta bread fingers in...voila, your own little fondu!
Lavender hedge.
I've had to replant my lavender hedge as all the others died over winter under the blanket of snow which seemed to last forever.
I've used variety Munstead.
