Sailor's warning?

We've had some astounding sunrises lately.

Trimming up time.

I was inspired by a friend's Facebook post to make this festive door hanging instead of my usual wreath.

My daughter took on the task of decorating this huge tree..she did a great job too.

Christmas shopping in Haworth, home of the Brontes.

Awesome old fashioned sweet shop at the top of Main Street.

All the shopkeppers were in Victorian dress adding to the festive atmosphere.

The weather became a little "wuthering" so it was time to go.

Al Stewart

Went to see Al Stewart in concert at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax on Saturday. What a lovely man! He played Year of the Cat, Antarctica, Carol, On the Border, Night train to Munich, Soho (Needless to Say), Palace of Versailles amongst others. He's got a very distinctive voice and is quite a poet, his songs covering history and time. Loved it! :-))

Almost

Almost a full moon tonight, 98% waxing Gibbous. Very clear could see all the terrain.

Autumnal crumble

I used victoria plums, rhubarb and bramley apples to make this delicious crumble. I put fudge pieces in the crumble for extra yumminess!

Tree stump

The tree stump at the top of the garden was putting on its own exhibition today! What a great composition!

Flowerpot Bread.

I was buying plantpots at the garden centre to plant bulbs in and saw these tiny ones and remembered seeing somewhere that you can use them to bake bread in so I bought six to have a play with.
I "cheated" and used a bread mix..it still required kneading and proving though before placing carefully in the flowerpots which I'd greased and floured (after scrupiously washing of course!)

Very pleased with the result..the children loved them. I think I'll add extra ingredients next time like pumpkin seeds or onion and cheese..they'll be a great talking point for a party. The bread was good too...I used a Hovis White Bread mix.

Parisien-esque posy.

What a lovely surprise, this was delivered..thrilled to bits!

Bulb time

I've been keeping busy this week planting lots of spring bulbs: various tulips, daffodils, snowdrops, muscari, crocus and anenomes. Hopefully THAT squirrel will keep its paws off them and there'll be a wonderful display next year!
