Dressing table.

Birthday roses on my dressing table....how decadent!

Some of the things on my dressing table that make me smile...you might recognise the piggy!

I sorted my jewellery out so I can see at a glance what I have...used this ingenious wire holder, think it's meant for hanging cups on?!

The rest is lives on a mug tree...and in a drawer..and a box..and another box...and...!

Birthday treats.

Ooooh delicious! Make a wish.....

Cracker Jack

Well I never....came across these today...Cracker Jack popcorn and peanuts...I used to buy these at Mr Weston's sweet shop in the 70s when I was little, an absolute all-time favourite...and yes they taste and smell exactly as I remember! Love the packaging..have to admit I don't remember the sailor logo..maybe that was where the start of my love for all things nautical came from...that and the Matey bubble bath and mum dressing me in sailor dresses when I was tiny....?

St Leonard's Farm.

St Leonard's Farm at Esholt near Shipley, Bradford.

Awwwwwwwww!!!!!

Very, very oinky and squealy squeaky! The piglets we stroked last time we visited are now fully grown.

What a handsome fellow...

Cock-a-doodle-doo! Come on ladies, it's bed-time...all locked up in their coop by 3.45 pm!

Sapphire Anniversary.

Today is a special day, it's 45 years (yes think on that) since my parents got married. A Sapphire Anniversary apparently, almost at a Golden. It snowed on the day they got married and mum being from a coastal town, unused to snow, didn't have any boots so she had to buy some. There's no snow today, only a little bit of murky drizzle.

I painted a vase for them, hope they like it!

As deep as the Sapphire sea.

Fortune Cookie.

My fortune motto.

Origami Peace Crane.

So, one down, 999 to go....

Yo Sushi

There is a certain fascination about perching on a high stool and watching your lunch zoom past on rainbow plates...an element of settling for a bird in the hand plate and the grass being greener plate that could possibly follow....what will go by next? Will I like it better than what I've already chosen? Decisions, decisions..what's she having next to me? Ooh I wouldn't have thought he would have picked that! Such a great place for people watching....watching the staff make the sushi...picking up tips..a general multi tasking too busy to consume what's in front of you really sort of place..and also perfect if you happen to be out alone and don't want to feel conspicuous! (Or is that just me?!)

My favourites are Prawn Nigiri and salmon seaweed sushi rolls with plenty of wasabi and pickled ginger....in case you were wondering...

Spring flowers.

I love the scent of all the Spring flowers...Freesias are my favourite especially. These Paperwhite Narcissi are wonderful...the magenta tulips don't smell but they're a fabulous colour.

Old Lane.

I drive along this road most days...the old mill is in a sorry state awaiting investment...its empty windows look like the hollow eye sockets in a skull...it must have been a once thriving place, close to the railway
line which has long since closed.

The blanket of moss that cloaks the old drystone wall fascinates me, it's very beautiful... when I took these photos there was a pair of Magpies picking some off to line their nest with.
I love the way the light catches the moss through the trees.
